My name is Mehran and I would like to thank you personally for your show of interest in Stixs and Stones Jewelry. My wife Sandra and I really enjoy working together and take special pride in bringing you unique finds that you will not see anywhere else. When I was a child, I remember my mother putting her silken waist long hair in a bun, then securing it with a chopstick or pencil. In 1988, I began using real stones to stud fancy chopsticks for the purpose of putting up hair in a bun style. My hair pins were a hit, and eventually I began hand carving my own selection of fine hard woods to make the hair pins; thus the name Stixs and Stones. Ironically, the name fits right in with my love of nature and slight fascination with old nursery rhymes.

You will find that our unique jewelry designs are hand wrapped with sterling silver; except our line of gorgeous clip stones, which are custom designed using brass. Our jewelry is linked by a custom wire wrap technique; never using crimps, unsoldered jump hoops, or other weak links. 
                                                                                                 

In an age where so many are seeking bargains, we refuse to create them because we believe you deserve more. You deserve geological and archeological treasures! Some of our fossil choices are in the top ten percentile in terms of quality, globally speaking; and not only belong under glass in a museum but are no longer available in the market. For example: the rare Pyritized Ammonites from Germany are from a mine that dried up fifteen years ago and were offered by a private collector; the Jurassic period Pinecones are incredible specimens with perfectly preserved seed structure; and amazing Megalodon teeth (with safe but well preserved serration) are from the prehistoric ancestors of the shark that grew as big as 75 to 80 feet in length! Since every inch of tooth represents 10 feet of body mass, the biggest teeth would have been 7 to 8 inches from root ear to tip. The biggest modern shark is around 22 feet.
